#TuesdayTruth Ecclesiastes 3:11
Ecclesiastes 3:11
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
It’s 2022 now and we have big plans, right?! We have it all figured out for a “new and improved” way of living in the new year. Personally, I am not big on new year’s resolutions, but a new year does have a way of making you pause and reflect on the both the year that has just passed and the upcoming year.
As I considered all that happened in 2021, there were many things that warmed my heart and made me smile. There were also things that hurt back when they happened, and still hurt now. One thing that I can look back on the year (like all years) and know, without a doubt, is that God is good. Another thing I can say with certainty is that His timing is better than my timing.
In life, there are so many things that we want when we want them. Not only that, but we also feel that we know what would be best for us, and when. As the verse above says, HE has made everything beautiful IN ITS TIME and we can not even FATHOM what He has done. When we get truly honest with ourselves, I think we quickly realize our lack of qualifications to be in control.
In addition to that, there is SO MUCH LESS pressure when we live knowing and remembering that He is in control and He works for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28). This is our goal for 2022- to work hard each day to love His people, to bring Him glory and to rest in the fact that He is in control. He has got us.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your timing. Thank you that it is so much better than our timing. Thank you for the peace that comes with knowing and believing this. Thank you for bringing us into a new year and help us to glorify you in all that we think, say and do.
We love You Father, Amen.
