Psalms 55:22

“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;

he will never let the righteous be shaken.”

Sometimes the cares of this world can feel SO overwhelming, SO burdensome. It feels like we are carrying a heavy, heavy load. It feels like we can not possibly take another step.

But did you know we are not expected to do any of this? God clearly tells us that we can give all those cares to Him. Not only that. He will keep us going; He will uphold us and He will not let us be overcome.

There are so many verses in the Bible that tell of our Father’s ability to uphold us, to sustain us, to take our worries, our fears. Along with that, there are so many verses that tell us that the only thing we are asked to do is to stand- to stand firm.

So, let me remind you that when you feel like you just can’t possibly take any more, you were never meant to carry it all alone. Give it to God and stand firm in the knowledge that He has got you.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you that we can give all our cares over to you. Thank you that you can handle anything. Thank you for sustaining us. Thank you that we can be assured that you will not let us be shaken.
