#TuesdayTruth 2 Corinthians 3:12,17-18

2 Corinthians 3: 12, 17-18

“Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lords’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Have you ever wondered about freedom? How to have freedom- among other things- from the past, from sin, from shame? As I read these verses, I have to believe that at least part of the answer is here, right in front of us. The Spirit-filled life is a life of FREEDOM.

Hope. Boldness. Freedom. His image. Glory. These are the words that jump out and grab me.

Honestly, as I was reading this and discussing this passage, what came out of my mouth was, “I am not bold.” I so want to be bold. I feel hopeful. I believe in the gift that we are given through Christ. I am not yet bold, but I pray that I continue to be “transformed into His image.”

Now, back to freedom. We are not bound to the things we have done. We are not bound to fear. We were redeemed at a high price (1 Corinthians 6:20).

Galatians 5:1 tells us “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free…”

Galatians 5:13 says “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free...”

2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

And, further, Romans 15:13, “May the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Freedom. Power. Love. Hope. Peace.

I do not know about you, but those are attributes that I want, that I long for. So, I press on. I will be bold…because…

I am being “transformed into his image.”

I know the source of my hope.

I have the Holy Spirit, and “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your Holy Spirit. Thank you for hope. Thank you for freedom. Thank you for your life-changing transformation. Oh, Father, we long to be more like you. Help us to be bold- not because of anything in or of us, but because of your Holy Spirit in us.

We love you Father, Amen.
