#Tuesday Truth Psalms 27:13-14

Psalms 27:13-14

“I remain confident of this:

I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Wait for the Lord;

be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

If there is one “thing” in which we can have confidence, it is the Lord. It is in His goodness. There is nothing more sure.

  • Our God is good and He loves us with perfect love.

We have to point out is that after David clearly declares his confidence in seeing God’s goodness, he then instructs the reader on waiting! Often, waiting can be one of the hardest parts of this life. This is especially true in this particular generation. We live in such a culture of instant gratification. There are few things that are not accessible right now (and from our phones or laptops)!

There are a lot of things that we want. They can be good and right things. We pray for them. We hope for them. We live in confident expectation for those things to come to pass.

Consider: What is our response when those do not happen when or how we hoped? I would encourage anyone in such a moment of waiting (or even in a moment of realizing that that “thing” you prayed for did not come to pass the way you hoped) to consider the one thing we KNOW to be true.

  • Our God is good and He loves us with perfect love.

If God is making you wait, you are in good company. God, in His great wisdom and kindness, does not give us anything too soon. The goodness of God does not always look like the answer we want or expect to our prayer.

He uses those periods of waiting- when we are praying, crying out to Him, yearning, living in confident expectation- and He teaches us. He molds us. He refines us in the waiting.

  • Our God is good and He loves us with perfect love.

Let us encourage one another to be confident in the waiting. The Lord’s timing is SO MUCH BETTER than ours. For, we are confident in His goodness.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you that we can live confidently. Thank you for your goodness, your kindness, and your timing. Thank you for what you teach us, and for how you help us to develop, in the waiting. Sometimes that is hard for us to see in the moment, but we know that you are good and we thank you for your perfect love.

We love You Father, Amen.
