#TuesdayTruth Titus 3:4-7
Titus 3:4-7
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.”
What a glorious truth! And what a relief.
We do not save ourselves. We can not. If that were the case (if my salvation depended on me doing a set list or number of righteous things), I would be hopeless. Praise God that our salvation is not dependent on righteous things that we do!
No. HE saved us- NOT because of anything we did, but because of HIS MERCY! His kindness and love took on human form, in the person of Jesus, and thanks to His mercy on us, we can be HOPE-FILLED.
Not only that- He makes us new and sent the Holy Spirit to be our helper, our advocate, our intercessor, our comforter. We get to be “a part of the family”- heirs thanks to His GRACE.
Again, praise God! He is so so good to us.
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your love. Thank you for mercy. Thank you for grace. Thank you for Jesus. Thank you for the hope of eternal life with you. What more could we want?! We do not fully understand the depth of your love, but we are so thankful for it.
We love You Father, Amen.
