#TuesdayTruth Hebrews 10:23,39-11:1

Hebrews 10:23

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”

Hebrews 10:39-11:1

“But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who believe and are saved. Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”

Hope. We have hope because OUR GOD IS FAITHFUL. It has nothing to do with us, with our circumstances or how things look from the outside. It is because of HIM.

Frequently our lives here on earth can be filled with uncertainties. I do not believe that I am alone when I say that I do not particularly enjoy change. In fact, if I am being completely honest, I very much dislike change and the “unknown.” My instinct is to avoid change at all costs and stay in my comfort zone.

In my life, I have found that God frequently uses change to help me grow. At first, it is frightening and I may even resist. However, when I look back, I can see that He was gently and kindly nudging me to the exact place where I needed to be, or He was preparing me for something I never saw coming at the time.

Because of Him, we can be confident. Because of Him, we can face the unknown. Because of Him, we do not have to “shrink back” or fear. Because of Him, our future is “certain.”

So, I say it again- HE IS FAITHFUL. Even when my faith is small, I know that He remains the same and I can be confident in who He is. This is the faith we have. This is why we are sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for hope. Thank you that our hope is in you, and not anything of ourselves. Thank you that we do not have to be fearful of tomorrow, because of your faithfulness. Thank you that we can continue on in this life, even when things are uncertain and ever-changing, because you never change.

We love you Father, Amen.
